Duties
Willowbridge Community Services is a not-for-profit organization offering developmental services and counselling across Hamilton, Brantford, Niagara, and Haldimand Norfolk. We believe that everyone deserves relationships, community, and celebration.
Under the clinical supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA), our Behaviour Consultants provide person-centred services that focus on improving relationships, well-being, and healing from trauma. This role is integral to delivering direct services and support within MCCSS-funded programs,
including the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and the Extensive Needs Service.
The Behaviour Consultant will assist with data collection, implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with families and service providers to ensure comprehensive care, all under the guidance and supervision of the RBA. The position requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the dynamic needs of
clients.
Duties under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/Registered Behavior Analyst:
- Provide 1:1 hands-on behavioural intervention and support to children and adults across various settings, including homes, community locations, and hospital environments.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of client progress and interventions, in compliance with College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) standards.
- Assist with functional behaviour assessments (FBAs), ensuring that activities are supervised and directed by the RBA.
- Implement evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with ethical and professional guidelines.
- Support the Ontario Autism Program-Urgent Response (OAP-UR) and Core Clinical mechanisms, adapting hours to meet the needs of children and families.
- Apply trauma-informed and positive systems approaches to service delivery.
- Provide community-based workshops or on-site trauma-informed behaviour consultation, under supervision.
- Monitor client progress through supervised data collection, analysis, and ongoing assessment.
- Assist in developing training materials and resources for staff and families, under the guidance of the RBA.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers, providing training and support on implementing behaviour strategies at home.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all activities are supervised by an RBA and comply with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) standards.
- Communicate supervised status to clients and families, ensuring transparency regarding roles and responsibilities.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and adhere to the terms of the supervision agreement.
This role will work Wednesday – Saturdays (4 days) with flexible times required depending on client needs.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a social science or human services field, or a 3-year college diploma in a related discipline with 2 years of clinical experience in a social service setting (considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree by Willowbridge).
- Education or experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with individuals with a developmental disability and a dual diagnosis or complex profiles.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma and intergenerational trauma and its effects on attachment.
- Understanding of the service delivery system in the not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Ability to handle multiple demands in manner that facilitates collaboration.
- Proficient competency with Microsoft Office and Client Database Applications.
