Bed Based Addictions Supervisor - SOAR Community Services
Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday (37.5 hours per week) in a 2-week rotation of days (i.e., 8 am – 330 pm) and afternoons (i.e., 1230 pm – 8 pm) with some flexibility required to ensure adequate staff and program support.
Duties
Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services Supervisors provide support to staff and clients across multiple programs. This includes an 18-bed facility that houses 7 withdrawal management beds for any gender and 11 men’s treatment beds, and a 10-bed treatment facility for women. The programs are staffed by a multidisciplinary team who provide therapeutic group counselling, support psycho educational and recreational programming, education, and skills development to support client recovery. This supervisory position is focused on supporting the men’s treatment program; however, the leadership team is expected to collaborate to provide global support to all staff and programs.
You will ensure the provision of high-quality services through program oversight, staff coaching, data analysis, and quality improvement activities. You bring your experience in substance use/concurrent disorders intervention to ensure we deliver a program that is trauma-informed, strengths based, and honours harm reduction philosophy. The Supervisor works collaboratively with the internal Addiction and Mental Health department team and community partners to ensure continuity of care for clients. You make a difference!
As a Supervisor, you will:
• Provide staff with supervision and coaching
• Develop, implement, and evaluate psycho-educational and therapeutic programs
• Ensure the team develops individualized support and transition plans for clients
• Cultivate a safe and effective care experience
• Support and monitor implementation of protocols to assist withdrawal
• Liaise with community partners to ensure optimal client care
• Monitor data quality and conduct medication reconciliation and support program improvement
• Ensure a clean and safe facility
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
Candidates registered with a professional regulatory body (i.e., CNO, OCSWSSW, CRPO): $32.94-$36.51 per hour plus $1 per hour shift premium for weekend work and comprehensive benefits.
Candidates not registered: $30.29-$33.59 per hour plus $1 per hour shift premium for weekend work and comprehensive benefits.
Starting wage commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
• Registered applicants must be in good standing with their respective college
• College diploma or University degree in a related field
• Minimum 2 years related experience in an addictions or mental health setting (one year of recent and relevant experience in the management of withdrawal from substances is preferred)
• Skills in leadership and teaching/coaching
• Formal supervisory experience an asset
• Proof of valid First Aid/CPR certification
• Familiarity with MS Office and client/EMR databases
• Access to reliable transportation
• Ability to manage frequent exposure to direct and vicarious traumatic stress
