St. Leonard’s Community Services gains funding to deliver specialized employment services to individuals with disabilities

BRANTFORD, ON – St. Leonard's Community Services, Employment Services is excited to announce funding to expand their services to job seekers who are part of the Ontario Disability Support Program or self identify as having a disability. Funding through Fedcap Canada and Employment Ontario will allow St. Leonard’s Community Services to grow their offering to include specialized services for those with disabilities.   

"This program is a great addition to our array of Employment Services," says Malcolm Whyte, Director of Employment Services. "Through employment supports, community members with a disability will get access to additional one-on-one assistance in finding and keeping a job.”

Through this new funding there are additional specialized supports available to those with a disability. This includes:

  • preparing for work and finding the right job for you
  • keeping a job long term and on the job supports
  • job coaching
  • moving to the next level in your career
  • identifying adaptative technology that can help you do your job (for example, accessibility software)
  • job accommodations and support
  • and more

St. Leonard's Community Services offers various community support from Addiction & Mental Health and Employment to Housing and Justice. The Employment Services Centres located in Brantford, Caledonia, and Dunnville, connect employers and job seekers in our community. The ODSP Employment Support program is an excellent example of the inclusive opportunities available to job seekers and employers.
