A COVID-19 Outbreak Has Been Declared at Our Youth Resource Centre

The Brant County Health Unit has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at St. Leonard’s Community Services, Youth Resource Centre after a client and a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

For privacy and security reasons, the identity of the individuals who tested positive will not be disclosed. The Brant County Health Unit has directed the individual to self-isolate and together with St. Leonard’s Community Services, will be working to identify close contacts and to advise of next steps.

Upon receiving the notification of an outbreak, St. Leonard’s Community Services began to implement its Epidemic and Pandemic Plan and is working closely with the Brant County Health Unit to ensure appropriate measures are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the facility and in the community.

At this time, St. Leonard’s Community Services, Youth Resource Centre will not be admitting any new clients. Youth Resource Centre is working with community partners in order to provide safe, emergency shelter for clients in need during this time. Clients seeking shelter supports are encouraged to contact the Youth Resource Centre at (519) 758-9644 for referral support. Additionally, St. Leonard’s Community Services, Crisis line ((519) 759-7188 or 1 (866) 811-7188) remains open and crisis counsellors will continue to assist individuals in need of support.
