37.5 hours a week, predominantly Monday to Friday days, with occasional events in the evening.
Duties
We are seeking an innovative, collaborative, quality-focused Director of Services to oversee our George and Station House programs. As a community leader in supporting people who use substances, and those who experience mental health issues alongside other social determinants of health challenges, we provide a broad range of services to support people to meet their individual goals. George House is a bed-based housing program for youth ages 14-16 providing support for high needs youth in care. Station House provides a safe place to stay for young people who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness between 15-17 years of age. Within a harm reduction philosophy, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure coordinated, integrated, quality service. As part of the dedicated and collegial SOAR Community Services leadership team, you will also contribute to overall organizational strategic direction and policy development. You will make a difference!
The Director of Services will:
- Provide oversight to the George and Station House portfolio and ensure alignment with Agency policies and procedures, as well as funder expectations
- Monitor service quality and implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure program outcomes
- Provide support and supervision to the portfolio’s leadership team, fostering effective team functioning and individual growth and development
- Collaborate with partners to maximize system resources, facilitate seamless service delivery across the continuum of care, and promote departmental growth
- Participate in senior leadership activities, contributing to overall Agency growth and development
- Represent the Agency on various community committees
- Mine opportunities to enhance services, submitting proposals for new funding initiatives as required
- Support initial implementation planning and program development for the George House program, collaborating with funders and licensing body
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in related Social/Human Sciences – university preferred
- Registration with a professional governing body preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in management role
- Demonstrated expertise in the delivery of client centered services and program evaluation
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant practices, rules, regulations, and laws that affect programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management specific to budgeting, resource management, and the ability to collect and analyze data
- Must have access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required.
