Day treatment is a five-week outpatient program for people who are 16 and up who want to make changes to their use of substances.  Participants access both group and individual support that uses Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural approaches to help them meet their recovery goals.  The group program allows participants to engage with others to learn about and discuss topics like:

  • Managing cravings and urges
  • Effective communication
  • Disrupting habits
  • Managing anxiety
  • Social supports
  • Rewarding successes

Participants accessing the program should have an identified recovery goal (harm reduction or abstinence) and be prepared to attend daily without being under the influence.

To access this program, individuals will require a referral from their local outpatient mental health, addictions, or concurrent disorder program. Please complete all sections of our Referral Form. This form, along with a consent to obtain and release information, can be emailed to: RTintake@soarcs.ca.
