Road to Recovery
Road to Recovery will provide clients with practical information, strategies, and tools to manage relapse and maintain recovery momentum. This group teaches a broad range of skills to support people using substances and experiencing mental health challenges. Road to Recovery is facilitated by skilled and experienced staff from the concurrent disorders program.
Goals
- Increase knowledge and skills to cope with challenges surrounding addictions and mental health.
- Provide an opportunity to practice these skills in a group setting, to prepare for real-life situations.
Topics covered include: interpersonal relationships, managing emotions, identifying and addressing triggers, cravings, and high-risk situations, relapse management planning, building confidence and self-acceptance, bodily awareness, impacts of trauma and substance use.
Structure: 13-week skills-based group where participants will receive a certificate of participation
Stage of Change: Preparation/Action/ Maintenance
Hours
Tuesdays from 6:00pm-8:00pm and Wednesdays 11:00am- 1:00pm
A break halfway through will be provided.
Eligibility Criteria
Requires an internal referral from a Counsellor.
